Springboks dominate SA Sport Awards

NEWS: The Springboks and some of their superstars were the headline winners at this year's SA Sport Awards.

Double World Cup-winning Springbok captain Siya Kolisi won two awards. He was crowned Sport Star of the Year and the People's Choice Sport Star of the Year.

Jacques Nienaber was crowned Coach of the Year, while the Springboks claimed the Team of the Year award.

Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth, who was in action for the Sharks in their Challenge Cup semifinal against Clermont over the weekend, won the Sportsman of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Springbok and Stormers playmaker Manie Libbok walked away with the Newcomer of the Year award.

There were also awards for the administrative side of the game with the South African Rugby Union getting the National Federation of the Year award, while President Mark Alexander was honoured with the Sport Administrator of the Year award.
