Bath must find a passage through the Premiership’s tightest defence away at Sale on Friday night. The north westerners have conceded only 26 tries in 12 league starts,5 fewer than leaders Saracens. Surprisingly Bath stand 3rd equal in the defensive stakes, along with Gloucester, having conceded only 34 tries. What separates them (10th place, 23 points) from Sale (2nd, 43) is a woeful disparity in tries scored- 30 against 41. The message is clear.
