Gumede stays a raging Bull

The Vodacom Bulls have announced that up-and-coming loose forward Mpilo Gumede has committed his future to stay at Loftus Versfeld.

Gumede, who joined the Vodacom Bulls from the Sharks last June, has enjoyed a breakthrough season, making eight appearances in the Vodacom URC and Champions Cup.

The 23-year-old has signed a new contract to keep him in Pretoria until 2028.

A hardworking loose forward comfortable at both blindside flank and No 8, Gumede has starred in Champions Cup wins against Bristol Bears and Lyon, while he scored his first try for the Vodacom Bulls in the win against the Lions in Pretoria.

Gumede’s form earned him a call into the first 43-player Springbok alignment camp, held in Cape Town.
