While Marcel Coetzee misses out, Springbok flank Van Staden has recovered from his injury slots straight into the back row alongside Elrigh Louw and Cameron Hanekom.
The Vodacom Bulls are without Bok stars Kurt-Lee Arendse and Canan Moodie due to injury, while Sebastian de Klerk also misses out after starting against Benetton.
Sergal Petersen is promoted after coming off the bench last weekend, while the Bulls have also called on Devon Williams to join Willie le Roux in an experienced set of outside backs.
There is a potential debut among the substitutes as utility back Cornel Smit could get his first run for the Bulls, having completed a mid-season switch from the DHL Stormers.
