Moodie back at 15 for Bulls

Canan Moodie returns to start at fullback as the Vodacom Bulls named a heavily rotated matchday 23 to face the Lions in a blockbuster Jukskei derby on Friday.

The Bulls and Lions are set to clash at Midstream College in Olifantsfontein during a top-of-the-table showdown in the Currie Cup.

The Herd beat Griquas in Pretoria in round 8 to stay unbeaten at the top of the standings, all but booking their spot in the playoffs, while the second-placed Lions mauled defending champions, the Cheetahs, in Bloemfontein.

Captain Nizaam Carr, as well as No 8 Mpilo Gumede, left winger Stravino Jacobs, flyhalf Jaco van der Walt and centres Chris Barend Smit and Cornel Smit, are the only players to retain their spots in the Bulls' starting XV from last week's big win at Loftus Versfeld.

Moodie links up with rookie Katlego Letebele in the run-on back three while scrumhalf Bernard van der Linde trades places with Keagan Johannes on the bench.

Locks Merwe Olivier and Sintu Manjezi form a new-look second row, with blindside flanker Corne Beets and props Khutha Mchunu and Dylan Smith set to pack down this week. The likes of loose forward Ghudian van Reenen are set to make an impact off the wood.
