The Vodacom Bulls could be without No 8 Cameron Hanekom for a clash against Munster at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday for a dangerous hit in the Champions Cup.

The EPCR received a citing complaint against the loose forward after a heavy defeat by the Northampton Saints for the Bulls in the quarter-finals at Franklin's Gardens last week.

Hanekom is alleged to have dangerously tackled Saints inside centre Fraser Dingwall in the 49th minute of the match in contravention of Law 9.18. He was subsequently yellow carded by referee Mathieu Raynal.

"A player must not lift an opponent off the ground and drop or drive that player so that their head and/or upper body make contact with the ground," read a statement released by EPCR organisers on Tuesday.

One of a handful of standout performers for Jake White's charges, Hanekom will appear before an independent disciplinary committee on Wednesday, and faces a sanction from six to 52 weeks.

The action in the Vodacom URC returns this week with the Bulls host Munster in Pretoria. With five rounds of the regular season remaining, The Herd are in third place on the log with 45 points, while the defending champions are two points behind them in fourth.
