Hanekom ready to slay Pumas

Cameron Hanekom is back in full training and ready to be unleashed by the Springboks in the Rugby Championship Tests against Argentina.
Hanekom enjoyed a sensational breakthrough campaign for the Vodacom Bulls in the Pretoria team’s run to the Vodacom URC final.
The 22-year-old was favoured to get a call-up for the Springboks, but suffered an injury in the URC final that prevented him from playing in the July series against Ireland and the Rugby Championship Tests in Australia.
According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, Hanekom is training at full steam for the Bulls and could be given his Bok debut against Argentina.
The Bulls aren’t planning on using the former Junior Springbok in their remaining Currie Cup games, freeing him up to get his first taste of international rugby in the Rugby Championship finale.
Following the two home games against the All Blacks, the Springboks will take on Argentina in Santiago, before hosting Los Pumas in the final round in Nelspruit.
Should the Boks come out on top in their mini-series against the All Blacks, Rassie Erasmus could turn to his wider squad in the remaining Rugby Championship games.
Erasmus is currently looking for a long-term successor to Duane Vermeulen, who hung his boots up after the World Cup to go into coaching. Kwagga Smith started against Ireland, while Elrigh Louw got his opportunity at No 8 against the Wallabies.
