Toulouse’s Thomas Ramos kicked three extra-time penalties to secure a thrilling victory over Leinster in the Investec Champions Cup final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While Antoine Dupont deservedly earned the man of the match accolade, Englishman Jack Willis delivered a stellar performance.

One of his many key contributions came at the 50-minute mark when he disrupted Dan Sheehan in a maul, thwarting another Leinster advance. Although he didn’t make any flashy runs, he consistently took the ball to the line and made over 40 tackles.

His exceptional performance left many fans and former teammates longing to see the flanker play for England. However, current RFU rules prevent players outside the Premiership from representing the national team.

Former England and Wasps scrum-half Dan Robson wrote: “Imagine if Jack Willis was allowed to play for England…….”

JIm Hamilton Added: “Jack Willis for England now. Let's stop this old skool madness.”

The Times rugby correspondent Alex Lowe added: “It's not hard to see why Jack Willis is loving life in Toulouse. The fans chant his name and the team play some scintillating rugby.”

Another fan commented: “Jack Willis simply has to play for England, no matter where he plies his trade. 40 tackles, god knows how many turnovers. Different gravy.”

A second said: “Incredible game from the Englishman. Ridiculous that England wilfully wont pick him. Was v good b4 he went to France. Now world class,”

Jack Willis belongs in an England shirt. Some player. Forced from the premiership,” added a third.
