Quins adapt to life after Danny Care
Harlequins’ new senior coach Jason Gilmore has called club legend Danny Care “impossible” to replace, challenging a group of younger leaders to step up as the new Gallagher PREM season kicks off. The message is clear: culture and clarity must carry the load as the squad evolves without a talismanic figure at nine.
Bath injury latest ahead of the Stoop trip
Opponents Bath Rugby have provided an injury update ahead of Friday night’s Round One clash at the Twickenham Stoop, with attention on the statuses of Will Muir, Alfie Barbeary, Beno Obano and Bernard van der Linde. The visitors are managing workloads and rehabilitation timelines carefully as they seek a fast start to 2025/26.
Season-opening stakes
Early-season fixtures don’t decide titles, but they do set tone. For Quins, the focus is on tempo and leadership redistribution; for Bath, physicality, set-piece efficiency and clean bill of health will shape the opening weeks. Expect intensity, noise and fine margins under Friday night lights.
