"You're not the ref!" – Owen Farrell called out during feisty exchange

Feisty.

Owen Farrell’s time with Saracens in the Gallagher Premiership is nearing its end but the former England would love nothing more than to bow out with another winner’s medal.

The 32-year-old is set to join French giants Racing 92 having already stepped away from the Test arena ahead of this year’s Six Nations.

Saracens took on Bath on Friday night in a feisty clash at the top of the table and Farrell found himself in a heated exchange with Irishman Niall Annett following a yellow card to Maro Itoje.

Farrell questioned referee Luke Pearce’s decision to award the yellow and a feisty exchange ensued.

Pearce: [The hit] is not flush, that’s why it’s yellow. It does come off his shoulder and then there’s contact.

Farrell: So how is that dangerous then?

Pearce: It’s high, that’s why it’s dangerous.

Farrell: I get that, but it’s chest on chest, he needs to be touched.

Pearce: I get it, but it’s a yellow.

Annett:Owen, mind your own business! It’s done, he’s gone. You’re not the ref!

Farrell: Oh shut up man (to Annett). What are you talking about? I’m allowed to talk to him! Tell him.

But it was Farrell who got the last laugh, taking all the time he could to kick the winning penalty to a chorus of boos at the Rec.

He’ll fit right in when he goes to France!
