Munster assistant coach Mike Prendergast said RG Snyman is "a book of information" on the Vodacom Bulls in preparation for Saturday’s clash at Loftus Versfeld.

Snyman is in line to face the Bulls for the first time after being named in the Vodacom URC title-holders' squad for their two-game tour of the Republic.

The Springbok double world champion started his career in Pretoria and made 49 Super Rugby appearances for the Bulls before joining Munster after the 2019 World Cup.

He has yet to face the Highvelders since leaving his boyhood club, and quoted in the media this week, Prendergast provided an update on Snyman's readiness after a recent illness while acknowledging his insight on local conditions.

"He is itching to get back," Prendergast said: "It is great for him to be back here [in Pretoria]. Hopefully he will be fully loaded.

"He is experienced and I have tapped into that from an attack point of view and Denis [Leamy] has tapped into that from a defence point of view – how to approach the game against the Bulls.

"He has been around and is from here. Not only does he know the area, but he knows their players.

"He is a book of information when it comes to that. It is up to us as coaches to narrow that information down, simplify it and get it across [to the players]. He is massively important for us from now to the end of the season."
